Take everything you’ve learned and step into the art of seeing—where great travel and landscape photos begin long before you press the shutter. In this hands-on experience, you’ll learn how to compose with intention, work with natural light, and capture scenes in a way that turns everyday places into images worth remembering.

Important Information

Prerequisites: Digital Photography I – or equivalent knowledge (ask us if you’re unsure: 1-(888) 734 2641).

Time: Course starts at 10am and runs for between 3 and 6 hours (depending on course numbers)

What You Will Learn

  • Perspective – where to stand and what lenses to use

  • Composition – balancing foreground and background, using wide angles, zooming, and understanding color

  • Filters – what they are and how to use them effectively

  • Capturing moving water – shutter speed techniques and filter usage

  • Photographing animals – handling motion and selecting the right lenses (dependent on wildlife availability)

  • Understanding light – best time of day, sunstars, and deciding when a shot is worth taking

  • Panoramas & HDR – proper camera setup and shooting techniques

  • Buildings in landscapes – how to capture scale and size effectively

  • People in landscapes – focusing correctly and exposing properly

  • Camera

  • Lenses (a wide-angle lens is highly recommended if you have one)

  • Tripod

  • Any filters you may have (not required, but bring them if available)

  • Bottle of water

  • Fully charged camera battery (and a spare if possible)

  • Empty memory card (you will likely take hundreds of photos during the day)
