Celtic Colours: A Cape Breton Fall Photography Escape
7 Days | Two Hotels | A Thoughtful Finish in Halifax
Autumn in Nova Scotia doesn’t rush—and neither do we.
This photography escape is designed for photographers who want more than postcard views. Timed for peak fall colour and Celtic Colours season, you’ll explore dramatic coastlines, layered mountain views, and authentic people-and-place stories, all while learning how to see light, composition, and narrative more intentionally.
We base the experience around two hotels only—one in Cape Breton and one in Halifax—so you spend less time packing and more time creating. The journey flows naturally from iconic landscapes to quieter human moments, and it ends exactly where it should: back in Halifax, with time to reflect, review images, and leave with clarity and confidence.
This experience is suitable for photographers of beginner to intermediate levels and is designed with moderate physical stamina in mind. Most locations are drive-to or involve short, optional walks.
7-Day Photography Agenda
Day 1 — Arrival & Halifax Blue Hour
Arrive in Halifax and ease into the week with a relaxed waterfront shoot. We’ll focus on orientation, visual intention, and capturing mood as the city transitions from day to night—reflections, ferries, architecture, and subtle movement.
Day 2 — Peggy’s Cove & Coastal Icons
Explore Nova Scotia’s iconic granite coastline and lighthouse scenery. Learn to work creatively and safely with motion, weather, and changing light. Return to Halifax for evening street photography and storytelling details.
