Morning by the Lake. Afternoon with the Raptors. One Unforgettable Fall Day.
Join us for a full-day bird photography experience that blends serene landscapes with the thrill of up-close raptor encounters. “Raptors & Reflections: A Port Dover Photo Safari” is the perfect day trip for bird lovers, nature enthusiasts, and photography fans looking to sharpen their skills and capture truly unforgettable images.
Your day begins on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie in the charming town of Port Dover, Ontario. Led by professional photographer and instructor David Benjatschek, you’ll take part in a hands-on Bird Photography Workshop designed to boost your confidence and teach you how to photograph birds in the wild. You’ll learn key techniques for tracking motion, mastering focus, and composing striking wildlife images—all in one of Ontario’s most scenic lakeside locations.
After lunch, the adventure continues with a short trip to nearby Simcoe, Ontario, where we’ll visit the incredible Canadian Raptor Conservancy. Here, you’ll get the rare opportunity to photograph majestic birds of prey up close in a private group photo session. With expert handlers and natural surroundings, this is your chance to practice what you learned in the morning and capture powerful portraits of hawks, owls, eagles, and falcons in flight and at rest.

A morning bird photography workshop with expert coaching by David Benjatschek
-
A visit to the Canadian Raptor Conservancy for a private raptor photo session
-
Stunning lakefront scenery, incredible wildlife subjects, and one-on-one feedback
