Calgary Zoo – Alumni Event

$5.00$10.00

Join our amazing Calgary Instructor, Norm, and our LPC Certified Photographer, Mike Kyffin at the Calgary Zoo for an afternoon for another fantastic Alumni Photography Event!

Details:

Date: Saturday, October 5th, 2019

Time: 9am to 12pm (NOTE: the Zoo closes at 6pm, so you may want to allocate a few extra hours for yourself after the Alumni session ends).

Meeting location: Our usual course meeting spot – just inside the glass doors at the main (Northern) entrance.

Notes:

  • There is no food provided during this event, so please bring a snack if you’d like one and a bottle of water.

Cost:

  • This event is open to LPC Alumni and guests. The cost to Alumni is $5. The cost to non-Alumni is $10.

Additional Costs:

For this event we don’t cover admission to the Calgary Zoo, you will need to cover these costs yourself.

Parking:

Parking is paid and you will be required to pay for parking before leaving the parking lot at the Zoo. The C-train also runs directly to the zoo on the Blue line so this is a great option as well.

What you need to bring:

You will need:

  • Your camera
  • Any lenses you’d like to try out.
  • If you have a zoom lens please bring this – the longer the better. A monopod is also a nice addition as it helps with stability with your long lens (but it’s not necessary if you don’t have one).
  • Feel free to bring your tripod if you would like, but it is also not necessary for this event.

Knowledge Requirements:

This is not a photography course, so we do expect that you have a reasonable grasp of the foundations of photography before you attend.

Maximum Participants:

This trip is limited to 12 participants, so make sure that you register quickly!!

Who is this open to?

Everyone!

Weather:

Oh how we love Alberta’s variable and crazy weather. But in the case of spotty rain, this outing will still proceed! In the case of thunderstorms though, keep an eye out for a notification from us, as we will have to cancel this event (please note, everyone will receive a full refund in this case).
