This was taken in Bragg Creek at the very end of a family photo shoot. This little beauty was nine months old and did great despite the cool weather. As we were walking back to the car she fell asleep while her dad was carrying her and created the perfect opportunity to capture those beautiful long lashes.

This black and white shot of the wonderland sculpture downtown is my favourite black and white shot I have taken! The detail came through so well. This shot was taken during the night photography class I took with James! I was set up directly under the head with my camera pointed straight upwards.

My first in home new born session – Canon Rebel T3i, 50mm prime, f1.8, ISO 100.
Shot by Michelle Sortland of Watch Me Grow Photography.
This image was during a family newborn session, I used an old round dog bed (yes an old dog bed) Using a thick layer of blankets and two fur throws on top to create a nice “well” for bub to sink in all cozy. Using a stretchy wrap to keep him curled (and hide the diaper), adding a mini teddy completes the “cozy and tucked in” feel. This guys skin was so perfect I knew black and white would be perfect for his images.

This was my first shoot with a new Canon 50mm f1.4 I bought this summer. My teenaged son was being very patient as my test subject, but the look in his eyes shows he was just about done. I like that the sentiment comes through in this shot. The natural light source was from a window to the front and left side. I used a small reflector on the right side.

Shot with my Sony 50mm f1.8 lens and Sony A7RII. The two city shots were taken in Times Square New York City October 2017, and the first one was shot during the studio course with Glynnis with the same lens and camera.

Photo taken this year, standing under the Hanalei Pier, on the island of Kauai. ISO 800 f/5.6 1/320.

The first photo I took on the streets of Amsterdam at the end of October. I had attended a seminar on Street Photography and been tasked with not taking the same old pictures of Amsterdam! ISO 200 f/7.1 1/250

“My heart is tuned to the quietness that the stillness of nature inspires” ~ Hazrat Inayat Khan
1/100 f/10 ISO 80
While we were driving by Flathead Lake near Polson, Montana, this stunning scene was all around us. A thick fog was in the air and it covered the little town. As we drove by the lake I asked my husband to pull over so that I could capture this scene. It’s not a common one for a lake. Behind all that thick fog on the other side of the lake is a mountain with lots of trees. It was a complete white out, and completely breathtaking. Changed to Black and White in Lightroom.
